Full-Time Lecturer
Non-Tenure Track

The American Language Program (ALP) is administered by University Extended Education at California State University, Fullerton. ALP is seeking three qualified individuals for appointments as full-time Lecturers.

Position
Appointees will teach non-credit ESL classes 18 hours per week in the ALP Intensive English Program, an academically-oriented ESL program, during both the Fall and Spring semester. ALP faculty are expected to attend and be active in program functions; provide advisement and counseling to students, and have additional program-related responsibilities (materials and curriculum development, orientation, mentoring, text selection, test administration, etc.).

Minimum Qualifications
Master's in TESOL, or Linguistics or related field with a Certificate in TESOL is required.

  • Experience teaching English as a Second Language in a university based Intensive English Program for a minimum of two years is required.
  • Native or near-native proficiency in English is required.
  • Experience in communicative language methodology, integration of skills, task based learning, and proficiency in using technology in classroom instruction is required.
  • Proficiency in presentation software and word processing is required.
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, faculty and staff is required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a member of an instructional team required.

Other candidates with a bachelor's degree, a Certificate in TESOL, and extensive teaching experience in a university-based Intensive English Program will also be considered.

Lecturers are non-tenure track positions. Salary is competitive and commensurate with professional experience and qualifications.
