PRE-LICENSURE PROGRAM
FULL-TIME LECTURER POSITIONS

Position

  • Classroom and clinical instruction, with clinical expertise in adult health, psychiatric/mental health, and/or maternal-child nursing.
  • Participation in student advisement.
  • Participation in curriculum development and implementation.
  • Use of web-based teaching methodologies.
  • Contribution to nursing knowledge through teaching and professional service.
  • Participation in academic activities at Department, College, and/or University levels.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in nursing required, with earned doctorate desirable.
  • Teaching experience in baccalaureate (prelicensure) nursing education is desired.
  • Expertise in medical-surgical, psychiatric/mental health, and/or maternal-child nursing and one or more of the following areas: cultural competence, health assessment, and/or professional issues.
  • At least one year of continuous, full-time experience in direct patient care practice as a registered nurse within the last five years.
  • Experience in curriculum development and evaluation is desirable.
  • Experience in using distance education teaching methodologies, particularly web-based work and telecommunications is desired.
  • Ability to interact successfully within a multicultural environment, and to work harmoniously with students, colleagues, and the community.
  • Must hold or be eligible for licensure by the California Board of Registered Nurses.

Rank & Salary
These are non tenure-track faculty appointments at the rank of Lecturer. Multiple year and ongoing renewable contracts are available, contingent upon satisfactory performance. Salary is competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience, and subject to budgetary authorization as well as any California State University System faculty contract increases.
