Child and Family Development/Welfare
Tenure-Track

The Social Work Program invites applications for one tenure-track position. The Program offers a Masters Degree in Social work with concentrations in Community Mental health and Child Welfare. The position is designed to cross over these concentrations so we are looking for an individual that has a broad practice and academic exposure to human services with a variety of clients in multiple settings. Position
We are recruiting a faculty member to teach classes in human behavior, human and service intervention theory and both applied research and program evaluation in both the foundation and concentration years of MSW program. This individual would also teach and guide community project students through their capstone projects. The faculty member also is expected to provide mentoring and advising for students. In addition to teaching and student advising responsibilities, the faculty member is expected to conduct and publish research and engages in service activities.

Qualifications

  • Masters Degree and Ph.D. in Social Work or in a closely related field
  • One or more years of university-level teaching experience
  • Show evidence of the ability to publish in scholarly social service journals and conduct applied research
  • Commitment and willingness to seeking external funding
  • Ability to communicate effectively and to work with a culturally and ethnically diverse population in a community-based venues
  • The successful candidate will have experience in working and conducting research on child and family developmental issues and have a strong grasp of the issues confronting foster children and families and other childhood issues germane to the public child welfare system

Rank & Salary
This is a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. Salary is competitive and dependent upon rank, experience and qualifications.
