Athletic Training
Tenure-Track

The Department of Kinesiology at California State University, Fullerton seeks applications for a tenure track faculty position in athletic training. The CSUF ATEP is an entry-level undergraduate program accredited by CAATE. The development of a post-professional AT program is being considered. Applicants should be certified athletic trainers (ATC) and have specific interests in teaching, scholarly activity and service related to athletic training. Position

  • Teach classes for the CAATE accredited entry-level, undergraduate athletic training education program, with possible teaching in related areas (i.e., anatomy, etc.).
  • Coordinate and monitor clinical rotations for undergraduate AT students.
  • Establish and maintain clinical affiliations and develop new clinical rotation sites.
  • Conduct and publish research/scholarly activities in AT and/or related areas.
  • Advise students in their academic degree pursuits and career development plans.
  • Direct graduate students with theses, projects and/or comprehensive exams.
  • Provide professional, university, and community service.
  • Possible work toward development of a graduate level post-professional AT program.

Qualifications

  • Doctorate in kinesiology, exercise science, or related area (ABD considered).
  • Certified Athletic Trainer (BOC)
  • Record of successful teaching undergraduate/graduate athletic training and/or related courses.
  • Focused scholarly agenda with a record of research publications / presentations.
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues in the continuation of the accredited ATEP.
  • Evidence of practical/clinical athletic training experience is desirable.
  • Potential to develop/obtain grants and external funding.
  • Record of professional leadership is desirable.
  • Awareness and sensitivity to a diverse and multicultural population, including students, colleagues, and the community.

Rank & Salary
This is a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. Salary is competitive and commensurate to rank, experience and qualifications. Periodic salary adjustments are enacted by the state legislature. Additional teaching in summer and intersession is available.
