Human Services Generalist
Tenure-Track
The Department of Human Services invites applications for two Human
Services Generalists. The Department offers a Bachelor of Science
degree with several tracks including mental health, substance abuse,
gerontology, elementary education, domestic violence, and administration
and organizational practice. We are seeking faculty whose background
and preparation complement the department's commitments to individual
and group counseling, community practice, collaborative learning
across disciplines, self-awareness, cultural competence, and the
integration of theory and practice. These positions are open to
all specialties.

Position
- Teach a variety of human services related courses.
- Conduct and publish research/scholarly activity in area of expertise.
- Assist with new and existing curriculum and program development,
assessment, and evaluation.
- Advise and direct student research and projects/exams.
- Provide academic advisement and career development counseling.
- Assist with establishment, coordination, and supervision of
student internships.
- Provide professional service to the department, college, university
and community.
Qualifications
- Earned doctorate (PhD, DPH, EdD, DSW) (ABDs may be considered)
in a relevant field from an accredited institution;
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a culturally diverse
campus community;
- Commitment to the preparation of graduates to meet the needs
of the diverse populations of Southern California;
- Expertise in one or more of the following areas: mental health,
substance abuse, gerontology, persons with disability, administration
and organizational practice, and underrepresented populations;
- Demonstrated ability to teach relevant courses in Human Services
utilizing a variety of instructional methods and technologies;
- Demonstrated promise in research, grant writing, and publication;
- Demonstrated interest and skills in distance learning; and
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to a positive working environment
with colleagues, staff, students, and others.
