Tenure Track

The Department of Health Science at California State University, Fullerton (CSUF), invites applications for one full-time tenure track faculty position. The Department offers a B.S. in Health Science (with focus areas in health promotion and disease prevention, and environmental and occupational health and safety), and a Masters in Public Health (with focus areas in health promotion, environmental and occupational health, gerontological health, and nursing leadership). Position

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate health science courses in at least one of the following areas: children's health, program planning, curriculum design, instructional methods, and/or healthcare administration.
  • Conduct research and engage in other relevant scholarly and professional activities.
  • Advise and direct student research and graduate theses/projects/exams.
  • Assist in the development of advisory tracks in health science.
  • Assist with establishment, coordination, and supervision of student internships in health science.
  • Provide academic advisement and career development counseling.
  • Provide professional service to the department, college and university.

Qualifications

  • Earned doctorate in public health, health science or related field by time of appointment. MPH, CHES strongly recommended.
  • Evidence of successful teaching, focused ongoing scholarly and creative activity with a record of scholarly publications and presentations, potential for obtaining grants and external funding, and leadership activities in professional associations.
  • Research and professional background in one or more of the following is also strongly desired: children's health, international health, health policy, health communication and/or technology.
  • Ability to work successfully with students, colleagues and the community in a multicultural environment.
  • Experience in online teaching strongly recommended.

Rank & Salary
This is a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. Salary is highly competitive and commensurate to rank, experience and qualifications. Periodic salary adjustments are enacted by the state legislature. Additional teaching in summer and intersession is often available.
