Construction Engineering
Tenure Track
The California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) invites applications
for a tenure-track faculty at the level of Assistant Professor in
Construction Engineering in the Civil & Environmental
Engineering Department starting in 2007. CSUF is an urban
university located in Orange County, surrounded by high technology

Position
Faculty member will:
- regularly teach all levels of civil engineering courses for
majors and non-majors;
- advise students;
- serve on academic committees; and
- contribute to Department and University governance.
Positive tenure and promotion decisions require excellent teaching,
research, refereed publishing, and participation in the university
and the professional activities.
Qualifications
- An earned undergraduate degree in the area of civil/construction
engineering is necessary.
- An earned Ph.D. in Civil/Construction Engineering
is required before the appointment date.
- Preference will be given to those specializing in Construction
Engineering.
- Good analytical skills, field experience and professional license
are highly desirable.
- Candidates must be able to support undergraduate teaching needs
in areas such as structural, geotechnical, hydraulics, environmental,
construction, survey and land development, transportation and
architectural engineering.
- Candidates must be able to teach laboratory and graduate courses
as well as engage in research in their own subspecialty (prior
experience is desirable)
- Faculty members are expected to be team players willing to contribute
to the mission of the Civil and Environmental Department, College
of Engineering and Computer Science and the University.
- Candidates must show the ability to work effectively with a
wide and culturally diverse range of students and faculty.

Rank & Salary
The position will be at the rank of Assistant Professor (tenure-track).
Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
CSU Fullerton operates on a semester system that enables faculty
to teach in January and/or during the summer for additional salary
if courses to teach are available. Faculty may also apply for intramural
grants to do research during those months. An excellent comprehensive
